"The power of the natural world to cut through our busy, distracted lives and stop us into stillness is a priceless gift." -

Bill Hedden, Executive Director, Grand Canyon Trust

JRatToroweap

I've made my living thru massage, reflexology, Ortho-Bionomy® & teaching for many years.

In 1982 I was a white water raft guide & ag laborer at the University of Idaho. Between work, hikes, backpacking & rafting, I apprenticed with a massage therapist and fell in love with the work. After careers in teaching, office support, management & administration, I returned to my "first love", and became a certified massage therapist in 1996.

My training includes numerous massage modalities. I focus primarily in Ortho-Bionomy® for injuries and chronic pain, and integrative massage techniques for maintenance and well being.

My touch can be gentle, soothing, relaxing or deep based on your needs, working with you in your journey from trauma, accidents, pain, surgery, poor work postures...and life.

Massage techniques can be uncomfortable, even painful. My experience, along with the research, shows pain is NOT gain. If you prefer excruciatingly deep work, where you feel you've been thru a meat grinder, I am not a good fit.

Massage DOES NOT have to be painful to be effective.

In addition to private practice, my experience includes physical therapy clinics, nursing homes, assisted living, centers, hospice and hospitals. I taught Anatomy & Physiology, Pathology, Spa Science Chemistry, Reflexology and Business classes for the CO School of Healing Arts, and The Denver School of Massage Therapy. I was a certified Emergency Medical Technician for over 20 years and a Wilderness First Responder.

I am a large, active woman with respiratory challenges, arthritis, two blown rotator cuffs and a life long self care strategy of eating thru my emotions. I've used my body hard, and continue to strive towards my own best health & fitness, I practice what I teach (most of the time), and work on the rest!

A sociologist by education, a teacher & outdoors woman, I am also an avid gardener and beekeeper, and blessed with a joyful marriage of 3 decades and counting...

A graduate of Hood College, Frederick, MD and South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD - I have taught for SDSU, Metro State, and Regis University. I facilitate adult education seminars on a variety of topics and am available for public speaking engagements and workshops.

The center of my being radiates from the awe I experience in our world, our universe. I believe our cells have consciousness. I am thankful for my brief part in the unfolding miracle.

When not in the office, I can be found in a book, a canyon or my garden; on a river, a mountain or a road.

Thank you for being a part of my practice, and my life.
